Amanda Brobyn was awarded a three book publishing deal in April 2010. Her debut novel ‘Crystal Balls’ was released in February 2011 and within weeks of its release it was ranked at No. 5 in the Belfast Telegraph book charts and by week 3 it had reached No. 3 in the Easons book chart. Amanda attended St Hilda’s Church of England High School, Liverpool, followed by Edge Hill College and Liverpool University where she studied Theatre Actor Studies. She graduated with an MA from the University of Ulster in Film and Television Production, Management and Policy in December 2010.
‘Some Like It Hot’ was charted within 4 days of its release entering the official Irish book charts where it remained for 4 months. This is Amanda’s lastest book although you can expect to see ’Over the Rainbow’ out next, which is planned for release in August 2012. Amanda tells us a little bit about it ….
“My 3rd book is about a twin-set and pearls girl called Maxine, who goes to a vertical dance class only to find out that it’s pole dancing! She is mortified, but forces herself to return to it in an attempt to shake off a little of her squareness. When she discovers that ‘Vertical Dance’ as the professionals call it, is being pioneered for the 2016 Olympics, Maxine gets behind her new friends and heads to Paris where they have a petition to deliver to the International Olympic Committee. It’s gymnastics, but on a vertical pole!”
Amanda won’t tell us any more than that but this book will be released in the summer of 2012. She does however say ‘If you want to read a book which will make you laugh and cry at the same time with a subject matter with is still considered risque, then this is definitely for you!’ It may be released on Amazon Kindle to begin, with the paperback following. Enjoy!!
